J. Fowler is a designer, illustrator, and author who started as a fine artist and teacher, and transitioned into children’s book illustration. To date he has illustrated 35+ books, and self-published 6.
He grew up drawing comics, then moved into drawing, painting, and graphic design in college, where he earned a B.A. in Studio Art. After school, he spent seven years as a graphic designer before moving into freelancing.
As a lifelong reader and lover of books, Jason was thrilled to stumble into illustrating books. His work is characterized by dynamic line work, bright colors, and loads of energy and humor. His number one goal is always to serve the vision of the authors, and help tell their stories in the most effective and interesting way possible.
When he’s not working on books, Jason loves to brew new coffees, listen to endless podcasts, travel with his family, and work on various entrepreneurial pursuits.
